It IS easier to be in opposition rather than government. You don’t have to fix anything, just complain about the other guy.

Why cede any power or move away from the donor friendly establishment dem message when you’ve so easily convinced the base numerous times to blame other democrats for the party’s losses while getting rich coming in second?
They won’t simply go away. It is up to us to make that change. Every single establishment candidate needs to be primaried. After that, it is in the voters hands.

Run the candidate that has the best chance of winning their seat or district. Most elections are local. If it’s a progressive that has the best chance, back them. If it’s a more centrist that has the best chance, back them.

The goal of the midterms is to turn both houses democratic. Worry about indivicuals and ideology after. This is wat democrats don’t get. The altenative is another two years of Trump running wild.
You know what sucks? The actual on-the-ground members doing party work are farther left than party leaders. The party leaders keep listening to the donor class instead of the people doing the actual work. It is **jarring** to see this difference if you go to an event by the actual party organizers.
You know the best way to get rid of establishment Democrats? Get involved in the DNC and get like minded people to join with you so you can change the organization from within and make certain to always vote in primaries.
The worst way to get rid of establishment Democrats? Complain online about them and then completely refuse to vote because you can’t pick your perfect candidate. You aren’t ‚teaching the Democrats a lesson‘ by not voting you’re just purposefully removing your voice from the discussion and helping Republicans win.

Most likely democrats will pick up a bunch of seats because that is almost always what happens in the mid terms. Obviously that is if we get anywhere close to a fair election which isn’t a given.
Give it to old moderate democrats to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, this should be the easiest election for them to win.
100%. They would rather try and ride out their terms to keep the donors engaged with THEIR campaigns even if they are in the minority.

I agree with the premise of this but right now our political situation is dealing with a heart attack versus cancer. The heart attack which is the group currently in power is going to destroy things a lot faster than the cancer and has to be dealt with first. Both are bad but priority wise one is way higher than the other.
Candidate quality is key. “Different/younger” doesn’t automatically mean better.

Yep! In 2017, I predicted Trump breaking the Republican Party and sending them down a path of back to back losses that forced them to reevaluate too late (2026-2028). Ofc, that was predicated on a candidate that wasn’t 80 being the nominee in 2020 (and then 2024). Now here we are, Dems on the defensive. Broken and just as happens many times in history, too slow to act, with the wealthy pulling strings.
