      I wonder if Trump is sending mass ICE raids in Texas, and how that feels to the Latinos who voted for him in Texas, and how they are going to vote in the midterms, now that Texas will redraw to count the Latinos as Republican voters. I wonder if that would backfire.

      I’m just hoping that Newsom didn’t play his hand to soon…

      What I mean is Texas initially said they plan on 5 seats, but if Californian does too they’ll redistrict more than 5 seats.

      So I hope Newsom has a plan for that, or plans for more than 5. Or something, idk.

      I can see the future of how this goes. Texas and California cases will go to the Supreme Court. California will be found unconstitutional, Texas will be dismissed on a technicality.

      This is gonna sound crazy but hear me out.

      Their are 2 people who i think are terrified of AOC running in 2028.

      Donald Trump is one for obvious reasons.

      Gavin Newsom is the other. I saw this as someone who wants to vote for AOC in 3 years. But I see Newsom do something like this and I feel like I would be okay with him winning the primary.

      This is his attempt to appeal to voters who are die-hard Bernie AOC supporters.

      And in my case its working to an extent.

      Will TX Dems hold out until the session is over? I’m so afraid they will eventually return to TX but they need to sacrifice their lives right now for the good of the country. It sucks but we need them to do it.

      He’s cracking the MAGA code. It sucks to have to play like this, but MAGA must go. The high road got the Dems nowhere. I love that it makes Trump look like a fool by imitating his social media style while at the same time taking decisive and necessary action.

      They should seriously do it and every other blue state should do the same, no matter what happens. Even if the Republicans back down on redistricting red states the Democrats should do it anyway. Don’t play fair. Fight dirty. Make them cry.

      Gavin Newsom knows how this game is played. While some pearl-clutching dems say ‘yech’ because they don’t like his hair or unctuousness, we need more cleverness and bluff calling, and we need more ballsy leaders and candidates who know how to exploit media coverage. Dems don’t have to marry Newsom, but anyone unhappy with Trump ought to be paying attention.
