Submission statement: After the US withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal in 2018, the E3 (France, Germany, and the UK) stayed in the agreement and refrained from reimposing UN sanctions despite Iranian breaches.
They now warn they will trigger the “snapback” mechanism to restore sanctions unless Iran resumes nuclear talks by the end of August 2025, citing Iran’s sustained violations since 2019. If the snapback mechanism is triggered (currently scheduled for October 2025), it cannot be vetoed in the UN security council.
