    1. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A South Korean court on Tuesday ordered the arrest of the wife of jailed former President Yoon Suk Yeol as investigators seek to charge her over various suspected crimes, including bribery, stock manipulation and meddling in the selection of a candidate.

In granting a special prosecutor’s request for an arrest warrant near midnight, the Seoul Central District Court said Kim Keon Hee poses a risk of destroying evidence.

The investigation into Kim is one of [three special prosecutor probes](https://apnews.com/article/south-korea-yoon-martial-law-lee-investigation-president-825efa12c571b2f4d6a72edcd27d3aa4) launched under Seoul’s new liberal government targeting the presidency of Yoon, a conservative who was [removed from office in April](https://apnews.com/article/south-korea-martial-law-yoon-constitutional-court-8cdcf4944c2e3cd9edf723bc29ba51ff) and [rearrested last month](https://apnews.com/article/south-korea-yoon-arrest-martial-law-court-e06c68e7ac195944e8e1bdb71d19522c) over his brief imposition of martial law in December.

Yoon’s surprising yet [poorly planned power grab on Dec. 3](https://apnews.com/article/korea-martial-law-standoff-yoon-882ce9744379510588a2b255fe8939b6) came amid a seemingly routine standoff with the liberals, who he described as “anti-state” forces abusing their legislative majority to block his agenda. Some political opponents have questioned whether Yoon’s actions were at least partly motivated by growing allegations against his wife, which hurt his approval ratings and gave political ammunition to his rivals.

Huh. Imagine a politician being held accountable for all their law-breaking and constitutionally ignoring actions.

    3. Her and her husband were both (and still are) insanely corrupt and had no problem throwing the state underneath the bus in order to line their pockets.

Edit: Also too, she’s already in jail, this isn’t the type of situation where she will be turning herself in (or having some kind of drawn out stand-off like her husband).

I’m pretty sure lady Kim is mastermind of every single allegation of Yoon’s crime – even that Dec. 3rd treason.

Lady Kim acted like she was a real president, during Yoon’s presidency.

Maybe even bigger than Park Geun-hye and Choi Soon-sil one.

In some mafia word, lady Kim is a don, and Yoon is the underboss/sottocapo.

If the US was more like South Korea. About a majority of the politicians in the US govt would have been in prison by now due to their corruption.

    6. South Korea about to be 50% success rate in arresting and imprisoning former presidents after leaving office. It’s like a right of passage at this point.

wasn’t she the main subject of that corruption scandal Yoon had? Why wasn’t she arrested before now?
