Yup, and that is the real reason why Putin want to hold on to Ukrainian land he gained at tremendous cost to Russia.
Putin will lick his wounds, digest the bitter lessons of how to fight war with the west, rebuild Russian economy, revamp military and return for round 2 more dangerous than before.

It obviously would be.
If Ukraine agrees to cede land for peace and tries to recover and re-arm, Russia will attack them again using that as an excuse.
If they don’t try to re-arm, Russia will still attack again in a few years using the current „tHeY aRe PaRt oF rUsSiA“ excuse.
Better Review your allies Ukraine. They want to sell you to Putin, while they rob your rare earths reserve.
