I mean it seems as if Russia has begun to corner the city? Why do Ukraine always deny these reports to admit it days later

      > The reporting on what is going on around Pokrovsk has been very misleading, and a lot of people are drawing the wrong conclusions. First, let’s start by describing what this absolutely is not: a break through. It just isn’t, the people saying it is are being hysterical.

      > In reality, Russia has shifted to primarily using the following tactic:

      > You take two men, dressed in cloaks to hide their thermal signature. They are lead by a drone through a specified path, the drone ensuring their security and camouflage. These infantry move up into positions and lay in wait, being resupplied by molniya. They ambush opportunistically, and kill anyone, namely civilians, who threaten to give away their position.

      > Russia then moves up another pair, and another pair, and another pair to accumulate forces in exacting, specified positions. The entire operation is directed from above, the people involved have no initiative.

      > […]

      > The people claiming Russia has advanced are basically bullshitting you. There isn’t an advance. The reality is that there isn’t a coherent front line.

By the end of the week, we’ll know whether this is a breakthrough or a small problem

    4. >Ukraine says small Russian unit passed defenses near Dobropillia but denies breakthrough claims

So they indirectly say that Russia has broken through their defences without outright confirming that Russia has broken their defences! Got it!

      🙈

    5. The claim from Russias end is a bargaining tool for the Trump Putin discussions to appear to have a stronger negotiation leverage. The goal is to make resistance seem futile.

Edit: it’s not necessarily that things didn’t happend, but about cherry picking something favourable.
