In your opinion, should Germany recognize the Republic of China (Taiwan) as a country?

It’s never going to happen but if they consider to recognize it they should also recognize Kurdistan as well
Let’s put it this way: there are far lower prices we are not willing to pay for human rights than the consequences of recognizing Taiwan.
Taiwanese women love german men. Met one today who came here for her lover.
And what will happen? No trade between EU and china for sure. China recognize taiwan, i doubt that.
We absolutely should, yes.
Taiwan is a gray area in German politics. Taiwanese can use TW as their nationality on their residence card. The same goes for Hong Kong, where you can use HKG instead of CHN.
But it’s worse when it comes to some universities. I remember some ASTA banned Taiwanese students from organizing their nationality night, just under the name of “culture night”. ASTA claimed themselves “non-political” when they dont want to get in trouble with the Chinese Embassy backed Chinese student union.
I recognize that; the independent country, Taiwan, may have been called „republic of china“, at some point.
