Holy smokes!
This is atrocious.
The government, by neglect, is setting up these kids for failure and foisting more cost and burden on society itself.
This is a super complicated issue of course, but good grief, do better. At least gives those kids (and society at large) a fighting chance.
I genuinely think this is a major issue that is not talked about enough. I recently got a job in a somewhat associated field, and some of these stories are just heartbreaking. Unfortunately it seems there is no clear solution.
