Original movies doing well at the box office is so great. I wish studios would get the hint that people are craving good original films.

I had a feeling Weapons was going to make some scratch. I went to an earlier Thursday showing and the place was sold out, in one of the bigger and busier AMC theatres in the country. I was like damn.

I was happily surprised to see how well Weapons was doing locally. I went last Friday and every theatre in a 10 mile radius was sold out except for the front 3 rows.
I can definitely see the film being a bit divisive but I loved it. I’m extremely happy to See Zach Cregger continue to cause so much joy for me and others this many years after WKUK. I now consider him and Jordan Peele to be the best contemporary horror film makers.

I am amazed that Hollywood keeps going back to this Freaky Friday premise. There must be like 25 movies like this made over the years. I guess moviegoers wanna see the same movies over and over and over again.

WB is on an absolute roll this year.

The hype for this movie was pretty high, especially knowing who the director was and having a good cast.
I walked in pretty confident that I was going to love it. Which sometimes is not a great way to walk in because disappointment becomes a possibility.
I was still blown away.
What made it even more exciting was that the crowd in my theater was so into it and even applauded when the credits hit. That doesn’t happen very often, but it was well deserved.
Easily one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.

I spent the first hour while the film was setting things up, wondering why Jordan Peele was so upset not getting to direct Weapons.
Then I spent last hour going, oh yea that makes sense, I’d be upset too if I missed out on directing something this good.
