That constitution didn’t stop Greeks from Enosis attempt. So it was irrelevant after that point. If Greeks didn’t use the conference to stall until they made enough preparations for counter offensive maybe current situation would’ve been different. Still, if you’re Greek, you should be thankful that Ecevit was calling the shots. Other option was much worse for you.
I mean, we had junta in Greece and general instability on the island, the Turks seized the advantage… by a white flag operation essentially.

Greeks had their best chance with Annan plan and they blew it but still awarded with EU membership. There is no guarantee that the Greeks would not attempt another genocide. The best solution seems to be 2 state solution where the North is recognized and accepted into the EU.
