Many people have a wrong perception of the Freemasons the idea that they’re some unreachable secret society. In reality, anyone can apply to join a lodge, and there’s public, online information about Freemasonry and its international lodges.
his style was very typical of the Flemish Baroque period. The compass and globe here are classic Renaissance/Baroque symbols
And yeah, a lot of well educated and influential people were Freemasons back then, so naturally you see those symbols pop up in art from the period.

That’s literally a tool😆. I’m starting to suspect that you’re related (you and… the tool).
Do you also cry out „communism!“ whenever you see paintings depicting a farmer holding a sickle, or a different painting where a carpenter is holding a hammer?

You lack critical thinking. This is so dumb. Do you not know what a square and compass are??? Try reading some books and maybe look up a YouTube video or something on critical thinking. I’m dumbfounded with how absolutely stupid this is and have to question if it’s actually just rage bait?

I’m in love with the meta paintings in a painting in a gallery where I’m sure this painting was hanging in a gallery 😍 that’s an epic gallery. I’ve been in one like this once

The Square and Compass symbolism isn’t even unique/original to Freemasonry. Lots of operative middle age trade guilds employed it, earlier.
