Repost from mine literally 5 minutes ago and the bot is wrong. It’s not paywalled at all.

Tesla has no business supplying energy here. And I can almost guarantee it’s a bid to have a legitimate business here that’s not a shell company in order to funnel more of his money into our political system.

If Ofgem have any sense, they’ll deny the bid.

Horrible idea. We don’t want anything to do with this nazi twat. He’s hellbent on subverting UK democracy and bringing parliament to heel. He can sod right off.

Based on his previous businesses promises where he is heavily involved, no doubt it will go bankrupt in 6 months or somehow end up killing someone

Do not get me wrong Tesla and SpaceX have had some amazingly successful and good products, but when he gets heavily involved in a project such as the Cybertruck and Starship, they are total disasters

As for his Powerwalls, good on release, but now they are far far behind the competition

Don’t particularly care about the man’s politics. If it’s the cheapest tariff I’ll happily switch to it.

    6. Unlikely to actually be starting a domestic or business supply business, I’m surprised they dont already have a supply licence as it’s part of being able to effectively trade in the markets and they already own their own storage in the UK.

Considering our government are already fully in bed with Musk’s far more evil business partner Peter Thiel I wouldn’t be surprised if this goes through.

His company have been handed tonnes of public sector contracts across multiple sectors (NHS, defence, policing) totalling in the hundreds of millions. They won many of these completely unopposed (no tender process) after hiring Peter Mandelson to lobby for them.

    8. Unless he’s actually investing in energy generation, or energy trading, I guarantee that Musk is just going to go with a white label supplier to sort out the heavy lifting and essentially trade on the Tesla brand.

I think he’ll capture a few diehard customers, but not enough to actually bring down bills and it’ll eventually fizzle out.

    9. Is this not around the Tesla technology that manages huge battery banks, buys it at cheap rates and then sells when demand requires? Some energy companies already use their platform.

A lot of people moaning about it being musk, but if it does happen and his company has the cheapest option for electricity, everyone here will still switch. Energy prices are stupid high here

    11. Nope.

If you don’t generate the power yourself, you’re just a middle man, and we’ve got enough of those.

The only good that can come out of this is a competitor who offers something similar jlins the market so we can all buy their product and fuck this Nazi idiot

The company run by the bloke who is (allegedly) off his tits on Ketamine almost 24 hours a day and just finished up stealing a bunch of US citizen’s personal data after destroying several important national departments and doing a blatant Nazi salute and supporting German far-right political parties?

I would personally prefer to not have national dealings with him.

    14. No one (or very few) will buy his stuff. Toxic brand flogging cars that have a nasty habit of crashing and burning. Plus he’s a Nazi.
