      It seems like it was a small number of people and they were rebuked by their own fans for this. I’m going on what the article says as I wasn’t there.
      I do hope that it was just a few as this is disgraceful behaviour and fuck those who took part.

      Scumbags. Sounds like their fans did some self policing though. Bans for everyone caught doing it

      As a Man United fan who doesn’t really support England if you’re going to boo the national anthem, especially when playing a London team, you can’t expect everyone to be respectful back.

      Completely different situations I understand but you’re just antagonising people.

      United fans do anti-England chants to to wind the opposition up but we’re used to all the Munich stuff anyway.

      Munich disaster, national anthem is fine banter. But a guy who broke the speed limit and killed his brother. Not fine banter.

      Jeering the minute’s silence is worse than booing the national anthem.

      Unfortunately there’s always going to be some idiots.

      I’d replace the minutes silence with a minutes applause. Drowns out any rats then.

      As someone who attends plenty of matches, all it takes is a couple of idiots not respecting a silence before they are then shouted down and called dickheads by dozens of others for not respecting it, it then snowballs.

      Crystal Palace, from my experience as a Liverpool supporter, are generally sound.

      but the minute silence hadn’t started. The ref hadn’t blown the whistle yet.

      There were a few mutters and the odd boo from a very small number of people during the minute silence which the majority tried to shut down. Liverpool then loudly booed those disrupting the silence.

      I’ve never been a fan of football and don’t support a specific team. I do like the culture shift and respect the new players that genuinely seem to be decent role models that actively work on shifting the culture from hooliganism by giving money and time to their communities and modelling respect for those that look up to them.

      Crystal Palace players and their fans have been among those that have shifted my view of football culture so it’s disappointing that a small number of fans felt the need to blacken their reputation by being disrespectful.

      Booing the national anthem is not comparable to a minute silence in respect for their opponents loss of a teammate and friend. These people are bereaving the loss of someone that was taken before their time in a tragic accident. The poor character and selfish cruelty of those that couldn’t muster up enough empathy for a single minute is sickening.

      The media spin on this does a great disservice to the image of today’s football fans. Most have reported that the Crystal Palace fans booed during the minute silence along with the video of the Liverpool fans loud booing to purposely mislead people.

      It’s disappointing.
