Imagine if Mexico invaded Guatemala and the first thing the US did was look to Europe and say, „hey! Do something about this!“ Absolutely inconceivable.

Unless Trump is able and willing to ramp up weapon shipments to Ukraine, I don’t see how he’s going to pressure Putin into any sort of agreement.

Sadly, the EU is still buying Russian oil and gas, agricultural products and a whole pile of other stuff – although admittedly in decreasing quantities. Perversely, some EU countries are poring money into both Ukraine and Russia.
Macron likes to strut around, but his France trades in LNG, fertilisers and nuclear products.
But. That aside, I agree with him. For any form of peace deal, Ukraine must be involved. Furthermore, other European powers (not just the EU) need to be at the party.
He just wants derail the talks. He thinks he gets to set the conditions for peace. Lol.
Sure it can. The party supplying the weapons has a say.
