I assume EU and UK will follow up with “we will arm Ukraine with long range missiles” and send our own troops to reinforce the Ukrainians?
Of course it was rejected. The whole proposal was a full surrender.
Advisors cautioned Trump he might be the next Chamberlain, but he thought it a favorable comparison to Wilt.
So, Europe, what are we gonna do about it?
The proposal was basically that Ukraine drops its guns down and Russia keeps what it stole until it feels like stealing more land.

So once again we see Europe (EU+UK) and US split. US has chosen their side and support Russia. US and Russia carving up Ukraine will never lead to peace. Europe demands Ukraine is part of all discussions – how can Ukraine with a functioning democratic government not be? It’s ludicrous to think that Trump has any position to decide Ukraine’s future.
The Russian army must return home, and stop at every house along the way, begging forgiveness for every act of theft, destruction, r*pe and murder.
Vladimir Putin must travel to Kyiv, present himself to president Zelensky, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse.
Trump: “but I said to do it. I want a Noble Prize don’t make me steal it like the soccer trophy.”
When will Trump learn that Putin is a liar and will never make a peace agreement? Any deal you make with Putin is going to be violated inside of a month and we’ll be back to fighting the war.
The only deal that can be made is Russia pulling out of Ukraine completely and being monitored by the UN so he doesn’t build up his military for another fight.
If Trump wants to trade territory for peace, he should offer up American territory. I’m sure he could carve up the right size of American territory to appease Putin. For the sake of peace.
Hopefully that would sound as completely unacceptable to Americans as it does to Ukrainians.
Trump is the stupidest head of state yet. He ruined a potentially great relationship with India to support Ukraine. And, the Ukrainians are refusing to accept his support. Great job, Donald. President of Peace who oversaw the following: (i) Israel’s annexation of Gaza, (ii) Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territory, if not all of Ukraine, (iii) renewing aid and support of/to Pakistan, a state sponsor of terror, (iv) not to mention deteriorating conditions between China and Taiwan, Cambodia and Thailand, and even Lebanon and Israel.
Give him the Nobel now. /s

Ok let me get this right, Trump is willing to go hard on India alone & not anyone else(Brazil too but for different reasons) for apparently fuelling Russian economy with oil purchases but he won’t go hard on Russia itself, the country that is actually doing the invasion?
It was obvious he had a lot more personal reasons like India snubbing him from the Nobel peace prize & also not willing to include agriculture & dairy in the trade deal & god knows what else. It was hilarious watching people defend the move when TACO himself said he’d withdraw support to Ukraine without the mineral deal much earlier.
Everyone is supporting some side or the other for their own geopolitical reasons but it’s hilarious when Reddit tries to find a moral angle to those actions when history has taught us that morality had no role in actions of such global scale.
There’s only one deal to be discussed. Russia to restore borders to those in 2000 and how much compensation they pay. Play nice, and maybe there will be no NATO forces near their border and some reductions in sanctions.
Return Ukraine to it’s pre-1994 level of *nuclear weapons*.
If the reports are true about territory swap and all will the Remaining Ukraine join Nato after Russia gets eastern part of Ukraine? What is the guarantee that war won’t start again after the new arrangement?
Putin can’t have a single thing. If he’s lucky, he can manage a truce.

How can you accept a deal that is made at the other end of the world and no representative from Ukraine is present? And does only favour the aggressor. This is beyond me.
I’m so sick of this. As an American, I feel like the US has to do one of two things. Either we just stay out of it completely, no aid, no weapons, no money and let them fight and negotiate on their own (not advisable, worst case scenario). Or, we say ‘fuck it’, get directly involved, make an example of Russia, end the conflict with their total and complete surrender and destruction of their government, and do so in such an aggressive manner as to use it as a warning to China to not mess with Taiwan. But this sustained fighting is the worst of both worlds. People keep dying, money keeps getting spent, resources keep being depleted, and it’s a stalemate. We cannot keep this up indefinitely.
