When his brother did that insanely embarrassing after hours rant a few weeks ago he said the same thing… „I’m the son of a real New Yorker“.
There are so many political nepobabies. It’s wild.
While working on [a piece about Senator Lisa Murkowski’s campaign funding history](https://np.reddit.com/r/Democracy404/comments/1ly9ww3/follow_the_money_who_does_lisa_murkowski_represent/), I learned that she was appointed to her Senate seat by her father less than three weeks after he stepped down from that very seat to be sworn in as governor of Alaska.
America worships dynasties, even when it’s clearly not in their best interests. But hey, meritocracy, right? Just ignore that part.

I have known @ZohranKMamdani since we worked together to provide debt relief for thousands of beleaguered taxi drivers & fought to stop a fracked gas plant in Astoria. He ran an impressive campaign that connected with New Yorkers about affordability, fairness, & opportunity.

I genuinely do not think Mamdani could have gotten a better endorsement than everyone else’s desperation to make him lose.

I’m cautiously optimistic that social media and crowd funding can rid us of these elitist dynastic ghouls that get foisted upon us by the cliques of consultants, fundraisers and party bigwigs, but I’m disappointed that we haven’t seen more success since the relevant platforms launched.
