    1. STORY

This years summer trip to the Italian region of Tuscany coincided with the peak season of the “lucciole”—fireflies. After sunset, the lush hills of the Casentino Valley transformed into a truly magical place and an irresistible opportunity for a nightscape photographer. Entire landscapes shimmered with that melodic, silent glimmer, accompanied by the chirping of cicadas and the gentle murmuring of the surrounding poderi, leaving me both grounded and in awe—losing all sense of time.

A friend’s hammock offered the perfect vantage point, capturing the calm and mystique of this nocturnal spectacle. Imagine falling asleep in a forest surrounded by the bioluminescent glow of these fascinating creatures—nature at its most poetic.
