    1. From the article

AI is quietly changing the traditional corporate hierarchy, flattening structures and reshaping job roles from the bottom up. Companies like Amazon, Moderna, and McKinsey are eliminating layers of middle management, merging departments, and deploying AI agents to automate routine work. As AI automates various tasks, even the C-suite is changing, with new AI leadership roles emerging and long-held power dynamics shifting

The rise of AI agents and new leadership roles like Chief AI Officer signals a future where adaptability and tech fluency are key to staying relevant. Fingers crossed!

This was happening way before AI. A large portion of major companies went through restructuring fairly recently with the goal of limiting their hierarchy to X levels between the CEO and any employee. It’s just the latest meta for consulting firms like BCG to sell their clients.

It does make sense it’s easier to train an AI to do the job of one upper level executive than to do the job of thousands of lower level employees.

FFS this change is NOT related to AI. Was happening before any of this.
      More scaremongering.

    6. Honestly I wish we’d also do it for CXO’s. More often than note some idiot comes in with crazy ideas, tries to implement them as changes, they suck, they get fired, and another idiot comes to take their place because they hop from company to company apparently doing this for everything they touch.

Imagine if AI were calling the big shots with guidance from humans.

Besides, isn’t it most cost-effective to get rid of the highest paid most useless people? Boom. Easily done.
