Article is paywalled for me so not sure if it speaks to this, but there is a fairly substantial export market for our beef and dairy that I imagine is having a knock on impact on supply – why would ABP sell to Tesco/Aldi/Dunnes at €5/kg when they can get €8/kg overseas (figures just for illustration I don’t know what Irish beef is making at market).
