    1. We should absolutely defend the rights of indigenous people to employ traditional methods of production plastics. Of course, we would need to decide how long something must have been practiced to qualify as „traditional“; since people have lived up to 119 years (I’m not counting a famous case of impersonation and tax fraud in France), let’s draw the cutoff at 1906. Any indigenous group which can show they were producing plastics prior to that date should be able to continue to produce them without restrictions.

    2. Why? Do plastics impact Indigenous people any more than anyone else? Why does everything require a carve out or special mention of Indigenous people?
