The Conservatives always call for this stuff when out of power but do nothing when in power.
That doesn’t sound like it’s an effective disincentive.
Did they mean that a percentage of the employer’s revenue determined by the percentage of illegal workers should be seized?
I think Deliveroo would find that an interesting risk to manage
No-one is going to listen to the Tories. We’ve seen this all before. Talk tough on migration, do nothing, bring in a tax cut for the rich and increase the national debt. No-one is falling for it anymore.

How are you going to catch illegal workers? They’re not documented and the country doesn’t have the resources to find, investigate, detain, or deport.
So unless they plan on raising taxes by 50% and risking riots, or enforcing taxation on their rich friends that don’t pay then (which won’t happen) then they aren’t going to be able to afford it.
The conservatives could tell me drinking water is good for your health and I still wouldn’t listen to them.

Surely the more effective measure is to go after the people employing them. If it becomes too much of a risk for employers to use them, they won’t. Rather than taking the wages of some deliveroo driver, tackle deliveroo
I get why they do it. Asylum applications can take 12+ months and the £80pm doesn’t go far. (I do think we need to work on speeding up the process and ensuring they perhaps can work whilst being processed provided they pay tax or something).
But at the same time they are currently in breach of UK asylum law at which point yes they should be deported. But where to when it’s not safe in their own country and therefore sending them back would be in breech of human rights.
As for those not seeking asylum and are illegal. Well they should be deported regardless of being caught working. They didn’t enter the country by legal means.
Just wait a few months and Labour will do it anyways, Tory’s are done, they’ve been replaced by our current government, the alternative is now Farage or we seriously consider Lib Dems and Greens and split the entire vote for a change and hope governance is better for us all since no one person dominates the entire sphere

Give exponential fines to anyone employing them including via sub contracting. (Deliveroo, Car Wash etc)

Why seize their wages though? Unnecessary cruelty when these people need to make a living. And the employers will just replace them with new workers to exploit, so it doesn’t solve any problem.

Amazon they destroyed millions of Bussinesses that was employing millions and paid taxes

Uber another one reporting billions no taxes
Google eBay and many more
So if I have a load of stuff I want hauling to the tip, and I pick a „man with a van“ who advertised that they’ll take trash and pay them to haul it away for me, I need to check that they have the correct garbage carrying licences, and I’ve they don’t, it’s me who faces a fine even though I’m not their employer but just took them at their word that they could do it.
But a delivery company isn’t liable for hiring people without the legal licensing to work because they are not their employer, they’re freelance delivery people?
There really is a two year justice system in this country, it’s just based on your bank balance.

Uber Eats indirectly hire the illegal migrants, then hire the Lime Bikes to them to do the deliveries. It’s the companies profiting off this, that make this country so popular in the first place. You’ve got to deal with the causes, not the symptoms.
Pointless if it’s not also followed up by workers rights.

The UK treats them better than other countries. If the UK puts them in camps like the Calais one instead of hotels, with no freedom of movement, if they didn’t get them spending money, if they gave them the absolute minimum required by the letter of the law and not an inch more and if they were all deported expeditiously once their asylum claim is denied, then fewer would come.
