The US special envoy Steve Witkoff is meeting President Putin in Moscow before President Trump’s Friday deadline for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Interfax, the Russian news agency, confirmed on Wednesday that the pair were holding direct talks. The Kremlin had previously stated that a direct meeting between Witkoff and Putin was “possible”.
Earlier, Witkoff spoke to the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, Kirill Dmitriev, and they walked in Zaryadye Park near Red Square, according to Russia’s state-owned news agency Tass
Taking orders?
I can’t help but notice the dichotomy between Wiktoff cutting the talks with Hamas because they are „not acting in good faith“ and „lack the desire“ for a truce, and visiting Moscow for the 5th time this year after coming back with nothing the previous 4 times.
