      can’t spread person to person, only mosquito bites. If this is around during hurricane season, it might be trouble from all the mosquito sex

      Awesome. From what I just read on this it is generally transmitted through mosquitos….two different species, at least on of which carries the Zika virus. They’re the little white and black ones that get you during the afternoon or early morning.

      We have those where I’m at in the US. I hope this doesn’t become the next pandemic…because RFK Jr. just defunded vaccine research, and he’s a fucking psychopathic lunatic.

      # What is chikungunya?

      Most people bitten by an infected mosquito will develop symptoms of chikungunya within three to seven days.

      Apart from fever and joint pain, other symptoms include rash, headache, muscle pain and swollen joints. 

      In most cases, patients will feel better within a week. In severe cases however, the joint pain can last for months or even years. 

      Those at risk for more severe disease include newborns, the elderly, and people with underlying medical conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes.

      There is no cure, but deaths from chikungunya are rare.

      I have had family members get it in India. It is a common enough tropical disease spread by mosquitos.

      The pain emanates from your bones. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

      It can cause joint pain that can last for years, it’s like one mosquito but can fast forward you into your 30s.
