I’ve been enjoying this current season very much
Definitely an upgrade over season 2 which was fairly mediocre until the final Gorn episodes
Ideally, would like them to drop the Spock – Nurse Chapel romance/tension storyline, it comes off as a bad YA / 90s WB teen show storyline . Like Dawson’s Creek in space.
Captain Batel was dying, time running out, and they pause to have a discussion about their relationship………I’m like guys, that lady is about to die and have gorn burst out of her body, pause the relationship talk!
Now it seems like they’re positioning a Lan-Spock romance. Can’t believe I’m saying it, but Spock is getting too much action
I do like that they’re finally giving the pilot a real storyline. Most of all I want more Dr M’benga stories – he’s by far the best character.
SNW is a stain on the legacy of Star Trek, as are all Kurtzman Trek shows. The media needs to stop promoting this utter garbage.
The thing I just can’t get into with these new Treks is their sort of slavish obsession with referencing older material, either with homages, returning characters and plot lines, or literally just taking place in timelines connected to older series. For a show about the future and new worlds and such the show seems stuck in the past.
I’ve been enjoying this season but I am sick of Spock’s love life.
That’s my issue with this show, they all act like 40 year old teenagers. So the no adult supervision part definitely checks out.
People say it’s fun and to get over it, but personally, I enjoyed the professionalism and how seriously they took things…evennn the silliest things.
Star Trek is no stranger to fun, but if every episode is like „Qpid“ from TNG, it gets old really fast
As someone that couldn’t stand Discovery for its relentless drama, SNW feels a lot more playful with a dash of drama. Absolutely throws it into the campy sci-fi genre, but there’s a large audience that’s down for the popcorn. TNG is my favorite series, but I can definitely respect the show runners for not cloning old trek.
Maybe in 40 years they’ll remake TNG trek… Oh shit that’s just around the corner 👴
I’m enjoying finding out that Kirk didn’t miss seeing Spock with all that rizz. Some folks think it gets a little too much Sanctuary Moon but I believe SNW is premium quality entertainment that keeps outdoing itself.
I’m close to tapping out of this series. I gave Discovery 3 seasons and called that a bust.
SNW had/has potential, but it’s straying…
The one thing I like about SNW is they finish the story with each episode and not drag it out over 10 episodes.
Snw is a damned treasure and we should enjoy it for as long as we can
