      > Multiple sources have described how gang leaders, who keep one step ahead of the authorities by changing mobile phone numbers and the gang’s name, subjected their henchmen and migrants to violent beatings.

They evade the police by changing numbers and doing a rebrand? They’re dodging the authorties the same way Yodel doged a bad reputation.

    2. How exactly is it that the BBC can discover this, and not the police, despite channel smuggling basically being public priority #1 for the past decade?

Yet we give Kurds asylum even if we know they’re [not genuine asylum seekers just because they shit post on Facebook.](https://tribunalsdecisions.service.gov.uk/utiac/ui-2024-004062) (Sur place activities)

A decade or two ago, thousands of Iraqi Kurds came to the UK declaring false names, false place of births to put themselves in the warzone. Even when caught, they still get to stay.

Now they claim to be Iranian Kurds. Because you’re more likely to get asylum as an Iranian Kurd than an Iraqi Kurd. All the smugglers are from Sulaymaniyah.

[All the most prominent smugglers are Kurds](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6pyyqep831o.amp). These people are fueling and encouraging huge numbers of people to come to the UK.

What do they do with the millions of pounds they earn smuggling and dealing drugs? They open up Turkish barbershops. Small convenience stores selling dodgy items (amongst other things) Great fronts for money laundering. Perks are you can also use them to meet the minimum income requirement for a spouse visa for your Kurdish wife.

The system has been taken advantage of for a long time by organized criminal groups. That’s why it won’t get better. Like the drug trade, arresting a few ring leaders does nothing. It’s a massive multi million pound criminal enterprise. Demand is growing. Processes are streamlined and asylum is basically guaranteed. The more people that come the more people who get involved in smuggling. Which means more people come.

What a joke this situation is. They smuggle people over, then come over here themselves and successfully claim asylum.

Nothing will be solved unless the demand is stopped, asylum is blocked, and everyone involved deported.

    5. Man. Govt need to vet very brutal with immigration in general. Look at the guys organising these crimes…

    6. >In June 2024, we tracked down Jabal to a migrant reception centre in Luxembourg and confronted him on the street. He denied any involvement and, although we promptly informed the French police, quickly disappeared.

Did they expect him to stick around? Glad you got a chance for a final interview BBC but the violent channel smuggling criminal got away because you didn’t inform the police first…
