Then he too can go fuck himself.
I don’t understand how any politician thinks ferry users paying higher fares — the end result of picking another supplier — is a good idea.
““I see a ferry,” he said, quickly adding, “Not Chinese-made.”
Carney’s comment is in reference to B.C. Ferries, the private company owned by the provincial government that recently bought four ferries from a Chinese shipyard”
Is Carney trying to piss BC off? Is this his “Canada first” schtick cause it makes him look bad when he says this and then backs off things that would actually put Canadians first like reducing tolls on BC ferries like he did on bridges out east or raising CAF wages which he quietly backed away from.
Also didn’t the liberal government use the exact same Chinese shipyard to make other ferries?
Alternate headline: PostMedia spins up inflammatory headline for quip that shouldn’t even have been newsworthy.
This is stupid. I really think BC and the Feds should’ve coordinated this a little better. The feds do have some jurisdiction as the ferries cross an international water boundary in the Strait of Georgia.
Who built the eastern ferries and who paid for them ?
