      > Responding sharply to Trump tariff threats, Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said America is unable to accept the erosion of its dominance and hence, continues to “pursue a neocolonial agenda, employing politically motivated economic pressure against those who choose an independent course on the international stage.”

      >She said, “Sanctions and restrictions have unfortunately become a defining feature of the current historical period, impacting countries across the globe. Unable to accept the erosion of its dominance in an emerging multipolar international order, Washington continues to pursue a neocolonial agenda, employing politically motivated economic pressure against those who choose an independent course on the international stage.”

The United States can maintain persuasive influence. Perhaps not dominance. But it would be far more likely and/or easier to retain this persuasive influence with the help of allies. Wouldn’t it be nice if the current administration saw the light and recognized the merit of allies.

      >Russia mocks Trump tariff threats as ‘neocolonial agenda’

Ah yes, that old excuse spouted from the remnants of an empire pining for the old days, like the time of ‚Peter the Great’… Heh! Yeah, right. It’s the US who is ‘unable to accept erosion of its dominance‘ Lol! What a bunch of delusional mass murderers. GFY!

“Unable to accept erosion of its dominance” they say as they continue attacking Ukraine for the 12th year for rejecting Russian influence.

You tell my Daddy Vladdy to stop picking on me. I’m trying my best to be his good little boi but it’s hard when he makes fun of me in front of other people. 🥺😢

As much as I despise the Kremlin; the current US administration doesn’t seem to understand “soft power” anymore.

    7. Russia will eventually find a way around the global system and at that point it’ll be too late to hope sanctions mean anything. Capitalism is dying and trump accelerated it.

Kind of the pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think, guy that tried to revive the USSR?

The decline we’ve chosen was NOT inevitable and was NOT happening before Trump. But there’s this stupid, inexplicable need to frame American electoral politics as irrelevant. So “smart” people will say whatever outcome results from an electoral choice, that would have been the basic result, regardless.

      But it’s not true.

America was already a great nation when Trump started promising to make it great again. It was unthinkable when he came down that stupid golden escalator that we’d be talking about diminished American power and influence before he left office.

This didn’t “just happen” and it wasn’t inevitable. We chose this. Fucking idiots.

I hope Putin keeps trying to humiliate trump enough for him to support Ukraine more.

Russia is actively trying to make former USSR states into colonies. Every accusation is a confession.

    12. Amongst all the shortages in Russia, the biggest one is a shortage in mirrors. This sadly allows them to blame other countries of “colonialism”, while simultaneously invading their neighbors, annexing territories, and killing civilians.
Either that, or their purely evil cynical bastards the lot of them.

If there’s erosion, it’s completely the fault of the Republican Party and their elected officials all the way up to the presidency.

says the guy that hasn’t been able to conquer a country which he said he’ll conquer „in 3 days“.

    15. Very true. The US stands a chance only if Trump goes. I doubt the Republican party would survive that, or have any credibility left. It’s going to be a Democrat world for a loong time after 2028.

    16. I don’t understand. The United States are actively working on eroding their dominance currently. How is that supposed to be a result of „not accepting the erosion of their dominance“? It seems to be a focus, rather.

    17. It’s sad, that this asshole uses the right words for america, but Europeans can’t.

    18. Also Ruzzia: „We conquered an unimportant Ukrainian province town after two and a half years of fighting.“ What an aspiring multipolar global power.
