      Even if it happens, it will be another ‚history lesson‘ from and crazy granpa. Don’t get hopes too high. Only when russia will continuously ask for such meeting themselves, we can expect some movement.

      I am not sure what kind of negotiations can be done with a guy so deeply lost in the depths of his own narrative myth. He’s a cruel evil old man from a different age, fighting an endless war against imaginary dragons in his head.

      Everyone who has described his interaction with Putin in recent years points out how Putin keeps going on endless tirades about twisted perceptions of past and endless made-up injustices.

      The guy was too delusional even for an experienced turd-whisperer Carlson.

      The collapse of Russia is imminent. The central bank is printing money 24/7. The economic impact is kicking in hard. Not saying we a 1990s scenario, but it can get even worse.

      If Putin is actually considering negotiations then Russia might be in some really dire straits right now

      The reality is that Ukraine will insist on returning to its 1991 borders, reparations and security guarantees. Russia will insist on (I suspect) getting the four oblasts that they have not yet fully captured, full demilitarisation of Ukraine (likely so they can attack again) and complete neutrality. Is there even a realistic landing zone that justifies peace talks at this stage?

      Russia can fuck off, they had so many chances, it’s nothing but empty talk to extend their warmongering and make the world think they are the slightest interested in peace. The only thing Russia wants, is the whole of Ukraine.

      Putin is lucky that the USA elected an idiot for president.

      I’m fairly sure that if Putin ends the war now, his own people are going to murder him. Because of Putin’s methods, the politicians left around him are the type to just be waiting for an opportunity to get rid of him so they can themselves get in power. So IMO, there is no chance that Putin stays alive and in control of Russia if he has to accept a loss or a truce in this war that he started. Putin cannot end this war.

      I’m also convinced Trump is completely oblivious to that fact. Trump seems to think a peace between Russia and Ukraine is possible, and it would be a „big win“ in his name to achieve that, then he could parade it across the american media for his cult of personality at home. So, since Ukraine’s survival depends (to a significant enough margin) on american weaponry, Trump can force Zelensky to try to achieve peace with Russia „or else“. Zelensky is forced to say „yes sir“ regardless how absurd Trump’s demands get until (if it ever happens, that is) Ukraine is no longer dependent on the USA. Which, if it happens, is nowhere near happening „soon“. Europe’s rearming is on the way, but it’s too slow.

      So, Putin can just profit from Trump forcing Zelensky to attempt to make peace talks with him. It’s a good way for him to pretend that the war dragging on is not his fault, while not doing anything to end the war because that would put his own life in danger.

      All Zelensky would have to do is travel to Russia while Putler pinky swears on his safety and then it’s one quick fall out of a window, into bullets dipped in poison tea that gets labeled as tragic suicide and would you look at that, Russia then gets everything they want.
