Anfänglich Mile Run Post

    Gestern 2K Run Post

Even further update on running a mile, today I managed a 5k.

    1. Fair play. Dont overdo it if you’re not used to running.

It takes time to build up from 1-2k to 5+k. Dont worry if you have to catch your breath for a minute every so often.

    2. Legend. Well done!
You should feel really proud, 90% of people couldn’t do this! 👏
I’d highly recommend that for the next 10 runs you do, that you don’t do more than 2km. Your muscles will feel like you can do more, and your lungs will quickly feel stronger, but your ligaments and tendons strengthen at much slower pace, so if you keep pushing more and more, even consistently running 5km from a base of zero, you’ll likely get injured.
Find a park run near you for the end of September and have that be next time you run 5km. Great target to have.

Please try keep weekly volume increments to +10% or so, don’t want to end up with injuries or shin splints! Nice work

Absolute mad lad. Going to have to change your username to Absoluterunningman95

    5. I had my first gym in about 8 months and I went in and did weights and all my muscles are too stretched and in pain and now I can’t gym. I get chasing the dopamine but taking it bit by bit is key I don’t seem to learn 😂

Have you consider using the couch to 5k app. Or even other apps also have the same thing. Like the Nike run app or Runna (I think that’s paid for though)

It’s normally 3mins running at a pace you can talk at then 1 minute off or walking until you get to 5km I believe it starts at 10-15minute runs. It really helped me at the start and now I can do a 5km comfortably a good few months later.

Also what helps me is always thinking that I am only running against myself nothing else matters. There is no one else on your leaderboard but you. You will have good days and bad days!
