Wow so DeSantis has history with prisoners doing hunger strikes when he was the JAG officer assigned to represent prisoners in Guantanamo. He smiled while they forced feeding tubes down people’s throats who were held under questionable circumstances, and that’s from testimony from multiple POWs there
Not sure how successful this could be — Kristi Noem will be bragging about how well they’re keeping down the cost of feeding the prisoners.
The place is just a chain link dog run thrown up in a rush and a cloud of grift. There may be concrete pads, I dunno. Probably as shoddy as everything else MAGA does.
It costs $450 million/year to operate and only has 1,000 beds? So $450,000/person/year. It’d be cheaper to buy every one of them a house to live in…
