It’s probably a bit of both. 4th of July is over it goes back to school with a bit of Halloween. Then it goes full Halloween with a bit of thanksgiving/Christmas. And so on

It’s in October! About two months till people start decorating. Decorations typically go on fire sale 1-2 weeks before the holiday. No one is buying Halloween decorations the last week of October

when i was a kid we had a paper sack and one of those plastic mask with a rubber band that went around the back of your head, and by the end of the night the cheap mask would be splitting apart from grabbing it.
They always do this shit. It’s annoying. This year is earlier than normal, though. Early September is ok, IMO, not very beginning of August. Technically Summer doesn’t even end until like September 22nd, right? This year has been cold here where I live in New England, this summer, and gray and crappy a lot of the time. Nobody seems in the summer mood. Nobody wants to go to the beach or do anything. But I love Halloween time, I just think it’s too early. Gotta let summer have a chance for it’s month at least. It is odd there was decorations of a ghost in a swimming pool, though, like so they are just having us skip summer? Gotta be some symbolism in this. New lockdowns that will prevent us from going outside in the future, next summer, etc?
My seventeen year old niece, who ives in a small Arizona town was just lamenting to me, that the Halloween costume store is only open for the month of October.
I told her that back in the pioneer days (20th Century), we didn’t have costume stores, and had to make do with what we had. She didn’t appreciate the history lesson.

This is normal. I wait to decorate until fall but buy Halloween decorations in the summer. Plus some people like to celebrate Summerween.
I know for places like hobby lobby they release Halloween stuff really early because crafters buy things months in advance to work on their projects since it takes a lot of time.

My job calls for me to be in Lowe’s and Best Buy. I was talking to a manager at Lowe’s because they too have massive Halloween decorations for sale. This has 100% to do with tariffs. They have to buy the stuff now because they don’t know what the cost on this stuff will be when they have to buy for October. Also many places don’t have the space to hold product for months in warehouse so they also have to sell it now. They already told me Holiday season is gonna be weird this year.
