    1. If they strike it will be a long one. I don’t think most people care about Canada Post. It will affect businesses more than the average Canadian. I can’t remember when I last sent a letter. All my bills are paid electronically.

      The federal government trying to bypass collective bargaining is very concerning and may have major consequences for labour rights moving forward. The Liberals have already done a lot of damage to the labour movement with how they’ve been abusing CIRB to undermine unions.

      The federal government needs to stop getting involved to undermine the union. They did it in 2018 with back-to-work legislation, in 2024 with a CIRB back to work order, and now another CIRB order to bypass the union and force a vote by the members. They have done nothing but embolden the corporation to negotiate in bad faith and snowball the problems.

      If you’re not going to ensure Canada Post has the proper funds to operate then get out of the way.
