tldr; Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), stated that the company could potentially hold up to 7% of Bitcoin’s total supply of 21 million coins but emphasized not aiming to own all of it to allow others to participate. Strategy, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, currently owns over 3% of the circulating supply. The firm pivoted to Bitcoin accumulation in 2020 as a survival strategy during the pandemic. Despite market fluctuations, Strategy remains committed to its Bitcoin holdings, with its stock offering indirect exposure to the cryptocurrency.

    2. And if their strategy pays off, it’ll trigger a feeding frenzy among the rich to acquire as much Bitcoin as possible, so as a member of the working class (AKA poor), I need to buy as much as I can, as soon as I can.

Crazy that people don’t see the slow moving train wreck where everyone loses interest because 1 entity controls so much of the supply. Why would anyone continue to agree this thing that has no intrinsic value is valuable?

    4. He’s literally bet it all on this —- gonna be fun to watch it play out. Here’s to me hoping bitcoin falls enough to push these guys out of their position then snaps right back up 🆙

That Saylor himself puts an upper limit on Strategy’s Bitcoin purchases is somewhat bearish imo.

Stock was down 8% today and bitcoin is above $115k USD. The biggest threat to this company is investor appetite for the risk and overhead when bitcoins value falls, not centralization. If bitcoin goes back into the 90s, 80s, or gasp 70s strategy is going to get slammed. Its all fun and games when bitcoins value is rising but its super pain when it isn’t

    7. They already control way too much of the BTC supply. This is terrible for BTC.

Shouldn’t we not want this? Seems to be getting more centralized with individuals earning large swaths of the supply
