    1. Good, no deal better than a bad deal and who can trust Trump to honour any agreement anyway. Trump can go f&@k himself.

Make a deal today, Trump is just as likely to break it tomorrow. Canada needs stability, not ties to some crazy regime being more civil to convicted sex traffickers than generational allies.

„I didn’t like what they said, but you know, that’s their opinion,“ Trump said. „Not a deal-breaker. But we haven’t spoken to Canada today. He’s called and we’ll see.“

The key words there are „we’ll see.“ Trump has a habit of saying that before TACO time. I think that signifies there will be a deal announced or (the more likely scenario) we will get a 90 day extension like Mexico.

    4. Why would we want a deal? There’s no guarantee he would honour it. We had a trade deal before, that his team negotiated, and then he came in and tore it up, saying it was a bad deal. I’d rather not deal with them and we look elsewhere for more reliable, honest trade partners.

    5. I’m not exactly on pins and needles here, most stuff is tariff free and the real damaging ones are the separate steel and aluminum ones that are already in place.

Based on some articles I have read this week, it sounds like it is mostly LeBlanc listening while Lutnick whines about stupid things.

We might win a court case, Trump can’t be trusted, most stuff is tariff free and the Americans are starting to feel the pinch from steel and aluminum tariffs.

We should let these things play out.

It’ll be painful but… We can move on.

And yes, it’s possible. Australia is a very similar economy to ours, standard of living and yet is thousands of km away from most of its big trade partners.

Focus on building the infrastructure, realign the economy.

We shouldn’t trade our morals and sovereignty just to get a bad deal that they’ll probably reneg on in a few months anyway with even more demands.

he made it clear tariffs are until we allow him to annex us which will not happen. Now he blackmails us every time we make a decision he does not like. he’s not long for this world, we can survive his insanity,
