Mourning Ireland was all over this, the attention was more worthy of a genuine household name rather than a chap on the radio once a week in the evening.

Very sad. A great show, one of the few genuine arts shows in ireland, featuring interesting local and foreign music and culture.

I’m very sorry to hear that. He was a fantastic radio presenter and someone who really knew the arts. My condolences to his family and friends.

My ex was a producer on Arena, she could not speak more highly of this man.

And he did the sound recording for a friend of mine who made a short documentary. Again, absolutely gushing in his praise for how nice he was, as well as how professional he was.

I listen to Irish radio a lot. Mainly daytime I will admit. I have never heard of this guy and for morning Ireland to give as much coverage as they did this morning. It wasn’t right.

Gerry Ryan was 5 days a week and had a huge listenership no where near this guy.

R.i.p and all that but do an arena special on him.

I’m actually really upset by this! I love Arena, then my nightly dose of John Creedon

Fantastic show. Great voice. Amazing interviewer. Made you want to watch whatever play, film, opera the creator was shite-ing on about. A big loss.

I met the lad a few times. He was an absolute gentleman. Like properly sound. A huge loss to the arts in Ireland. He made Arena his own.

    9. So sad, he seemed like such a gent. Really appreciated his MCing for the Concert Orchestra over the years.

Arena followed by John Creedon was some of the best radio in Ireland.
