Why not? They keep making tons of money.
He should keep going until he can’t anymore.
Or, hear me out — give Rob Rod a call for the second-to-last one and watch the magic happen.
I really hope he keeps going like he says, because the fact that his name is attached to an adaption of The Devils by Joe Abercrombie makes me all tingly
It’s the same movie over and over; the bus is driving itself
Noone can pull those off. Either Cameron does them or noone.
“No reason not to do it”? I mean, Avatar 1 and 2…
There are reasons not to do it. But his age is not one of them.
Obligatory
James Cameron doesn’t do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron IS James Cameron.
I’ve worked with plenty of guys who kept operating at a high level in their early 70s
75 is more like the drop off, they just lose something
Everyone feels invincible until they’re not. Old age will kick your ass when you least expect it and I’m not wishing it on anyone but your body will definitely let you know when it’s time to slow down.
I wish he would have put the time an effort into a different universe. I think the first film was a pretty cool scifi film about natives vs tech but the second film was pretty boring in comparison.
I really wish he put his creative talents into other stories. Something else original, or even some proper sequels to his other franchises. I’d easily take Terminator 7 and The Abyss 2 over Avatar 4 & 5.
*Cue the inevitable redditors telling me he can do whatever he wants, he enjoys what he’s doing, he’s making dump trucks full of cash, he doesn’t need my business, etc.*
I’m sure he can go until he’s 80. Just keep pumping them out.
I’ve never seen an Avatar movie, but I’ve liked his Terminator work. Am I missing out?
Seems like he’s making his dream film – perhaps for himself more than anyone else.
“They’re the epitome of absurdly expensive for a mid story and forgettable movie” is the reason not to do it.
1st film: Great
2nd film: Boring
3rd: I’ll never see it
I wish Jim would apply his amazing talent to a different film project all together. I’m so board of the 3 hour MAC screen saver films
Maybe make room for some other their talents to make these big budget films
if he was going to spend the rest of his life working on one movie series I wish it had been Terminator.
lord i wish he would just get these movies out of his system already and make something good again
Oh boy, here comes the Reddit brigade to talk about how much Avatar sucks and is a waste of time because nobody likes them despite even the second one making over $2 billion.
