I neither love nor hate this idea.
There aren’t enough comedies being made now, so even one that is certainly going to be more of a cheap movie selling nostalgia isn’t that bad.
If you liked the original, and don’t need this sequel, you can just ignore it. Just like Happy Gilmore is still a good (or bad depending on your opinion) move, regardless of the existence of Happy Gilmore 2.
