      I cannot begin to describe the magnitude of how badly Labour has absolutely fucked it.

      In the span of a year, they somehow managed to make Nigel of all people and Reform sound like the sane ones.

      People keep saying this is an own goal. Own goal is an understatement at this point.

      I’m not sure Savile was surfing the internet for child victims- so this statement is complete nonsense.

      There are more than enough things to throw at Frogface, rather than this badly thought out attack.

      Frogface is on the side of Trump, so no to dissimilar to supporting Savile, and this story is true and verified

      I put aside all of my misgivings, held my nose and lent Labour my vote last time round, and it’s becoming incredibly difficult to imagine doing it again in 2029.

      Absolutely moronic statement, and really does just prove the reform point that Labour have no idea when it comes to this law.

      The minister makes the point that predators reach out to children via messaging apps and this law stops that – no it doesn’t. The fact that the minister for technology is this inept is hilarious.

      Just an absolute shambles.

      I see all of the „characters“ have come out of the woodwork.

      People who know fuck all about the Online Safety Act (and have never read the whole thing through), it’s reach (beyond social media), what other laws it interconnects with (and in some cases contravenes), and what the end-goal is for this dumpsterfire law written by people who have no understanding of technology or the Internet stack.

      I can’t wait for 10 years down the line when SME’s and individuals cannot create their own website because the cost associated with paying Ofcom, paying age verification software, yearly specialist compliance checks, and legal insurance (experts have estimated this to be at around £10k per business per year) will ensure no small operator can afford to exist online.

      But hey, SMEs only account for approx two-thirds (61%) of total employment and around half (53%) of turnover in the UK private sector (£2.4 trillion) – I’m sure it won’t damage the economy if that fails.

      Minister needs to be disgraced and forced out of politics for such a pathetic comment. 
      You can also stop all child rape if you handcuff your children to your arms at all times when outside and we could enforce that by law. It does not mean that those who are against the law, want to rape children or are pro child rape. The minister is not this stupid, he is just evil.

      It’s a ridiculous thing to claim. For a start Savile once said in an interview he intentionally never owned a computer and never used the internet.

      So let’s not lose sight of the fact that Saville committed and got away with his crimes for a very, very long time, all whilst we had both Labour and Conservative governments.

      Let’s also not forget that Starmer was head of the CPS when the initial case was dropped in 2009 and yet did not act to see justice served. Yes, he claims he didn’t know about the case, that seems unlikely though given the attention paid to the case by mainstream media at the time. Perhaps he was too busy charging the British taxpayers £161,000 for use of a private, chauffeur driven car to and and from work everyday for 18 months.

So anyone who doesn’t agree with censorship is Jimmy Saville’s mate, also the irony that they’re saying Jimmy Saville would do modern crimes online when we’re in the midst of one of the biggest grooming gangs trials in modern history, access to which is being covered up by this bill.       I wrote to my MP at the weekend outlining my concerns at how the OSA is completely ineffective at reaching its desired outcomes and fails to address the root cause of inadequate sex education in schools. I also highlighted the concerns around data privacy and how it gives the government the capacity to censor anything they deem politically inconvenient.

      So I guess I’m a monster comparable to a guy who sexually abused over 300 people, some of whom were dead.

      Not a fan of Farage but what a disgusting thing to say on a public broadcast without zero evidence to back it up. Bringing out damaging accusations in order to disingenuously discredit anyone who you don’t agree with. A staple of political warfare but taken to the extreme. I hate advocating for people losing their jobs, but I think a sacking is actually warranted for such libelous claims. This is only going to boost Farage’s popularity with the youth even more as people are no longer ignorant to these tactics. It comes across as pure desperation.

      Also, if any of you signed that petition or you’re against the OSA in general, congratulations! We are now tantamount to supporting the likes of Jimmy Savile according to these utter pricks. Labour have almost finished digging their own graves.
