    1. The strange thing about all of this is that I expect the USA to secure a fair number of short term “wins” while the rest of the world sorta out other trade alternatives.

It will probably work out for them as the next administration can simply blame trump as an aberration of the norm and we’ll fall in line like the suckers we are.

I’m not sure what the alternatives are. But it’s sure a kick to the stomach.

Part of me thinks that if we were wise, we’d all have turned our backs. China and eu have indicated no interest in such. It’s not like Canada can go it alone.

The future just seems so sad and muddled. A strange mix of unbreathable air, unproductive soil, and untrustworthy neighbours. How thoroughly and quickly we are willing to let the “strong” win.

Meanwhile, we’ll bitch about carney, poilievre, ford, smith, etc as though any of it matters. It’s so weird and sad how many Canadians seem excited not just about joining America (something I don’t really care about one way or the other, if I’m honest), but joining trump’s America (a nightmarish scenario indeed).

Do they think we would receive favourable treatment? Have they not been watching?

Trump is starting to need this more than us. It’s going to start to drag on the U.S. economy very soon. A lot of businesses are losing faith in the U.S. economy.

The EU deal is mostly smoke and mirrors, with nothing detailed decided and most of it still to negotiate.

The announcements on Sunday were mostly photo ops.

We should be in no hurry to come to a trade deal because Trump won’t respect it anyways. He’ll continue to try and strangle our economy until we become the 51st state.

These are not serious people. This administration is larping international relations and trade negotiations.

I much prefer a no deal rather than a bad deal. A bad deal shows compromise and something trump can rip up and push for more when he needs more distractions from the child pedophile rings.

While a no deal shows we are firm.

But at the same time I also have felt no impact from the trade war. I actually been making money off of trump’s market manipulation through crypto. So my experiences are currently not representative of a lot of people
