    1. Creepy indeed won’t be the first won’t be the last time it happens to you. What device was this on out of curiosity?

    2. It’s your phone camera capturing your every move. The camera caught a glimpse of the damaged item so it served you an add.

Its not any better than reading your mind, but at least you can work around it a bit.

    3. Do you have a front facing camera? where do you usually keep your phone? It could be that it’s got access through one of the apps and sells the film analysis of your struggle to a third party advertiser.

    4. I was outside my job silently pondering the AC water drain pipe pouring an unusual amount of water on a hot day while I was out vaping. Pondered if the water would be clean enough to drink. not eben an hour later a meme about drinking AC runoff water pops up on Facebook. It’s scary sometimes. Genuinely scary.

One day in 2018 or 2019 I went to a town where only multimillionaires/billionaires live to rummage through their trash on the towns bulk trash day. I forgot my phone at home. I had no other electronic devices in my 1998 Ford. I found wood carved statuettes of African people and animals. They were one of the first items I found. I wound up filling the truck up to a mound of random appliances fabrics art works metals etc. The African statuettes were not visible from the outside of the truck when I arrived back home. I didn’t unpack. I ran inside showered and checked my phone which was indeed still inside my room with my truck also out of view from the window. I was home alone and did not drive with anyone or talk to anyone since I left the house that morning.

I was going to search for something on eBay. And wasn’t even consciously thinking of the day’s finds. I typed the letter „B“ in the search bar and noticed the first auto complete was for „Besmo Art“. I clicked on that just to see what it was because I never heard of it. Turns out Besmo Art is Kenyan wood carvings and the top results were basically identical to the wood carvings that were buried in a box and surrounded by other materials in my truck outside and not in view of the window. Mine was a woman with a headdress a little more common than the bald man walking cane with it. The most common were animals. Yet the 2 identical carvings of the style of art is never heard of was at the top of the results even though they were the only 2 in the thousands of results.

The Ford was registered to my father. So if it were ai algorithmically targeting my advertisement suggestions, then it had to have been by a device not owned by me that saw my license plates or my face while picking up the objects. And that the licence plates that were registered to my father were narrowed down to me by the fact that he was probably using his phone away from the house at which the object were found. Or my face was recognized. But as far as I remember there were no nearby pedestrians, only parked vehicles and as many ring cameras that existed in 2018. I think it is just as likely that the phone was able to decode my subconscious thought. Because I wasn’t even aware I was thinking about the objects while on the phone typing the letter B into eBays search

FB did this a lot, it was one of many major factors I deleted my account and app.

It’s literally says it’s a list items so a wish list item you selected on the Amazon website is on sale, so it’s notifying you. It is reading our minds but this is one of the worst examples yet.
