For some context: most of the ethnic minorities in Myanmar (Burma) are either against the junta, or stay out of the fighting altogether. Much of the [Lisu ](https://www.frontiermyanmar.net/en/divide-and-rule-in-kachin-state/)(along with the Shanni and parts of the Pa-O group) are pro-junta because they have tensions with the anti-junta ethnic militias like Kachin Independence Army.

Also, the reason that many of their members wear Thai-style woodland camo is because many of their members are former anti-junta insurgents, and the junta’s own [camo ](https://www.aljazeera.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/000_YP2DM.jpg?resize=770%2C513&quality=80)is very distinct. If they were not wearing the Burmese flag patch, you could mistake them for rebels. Being former insurgents/a „Border Guard Force“ is also why there’s an optic on that Type 81. These BGFs have a lot of money (mainly from drugs, extortion, scams, etc.). In contrast, most of the regular army does not use optics.
