Why can’t Canada just once stand up for human rights in Palestine? I don’t want my country’s name remembered for supporting this Genocide.

These are very bold commitments. I don’t see a reason why we should not recognize a Palestinian state if these commitments are actually accomplished.

This makes it extra complicated. Hamas would win those elections easily. Abbas is quite unpopular.
I don’t see an issue with waiting until it’s geopolitically a good timing for Canada. If it means anything I don’t think we’d be against Palestinian statehood and our politicians have done a decent job placating both sides without promising much of anything.
