In many rural areas, the only access to health care is a community clinic and a community hospital, both of which require Medicaid patients in order to stay afloat. Without that, no one could afford to pay for health care, without the reimbursements the clinic and the hospital would close. The closures will result in someone needing to drive, in some cases hours, to reach a health care facility. In emergency situations, this all but guarantees death.

Then coupled with the elimination of public broadcast funding, means that many rural areas whose only TV and radio services are public broadcasting b/c it’s not financially feasible for any commercial entity to operate in such low density, will lose all terrestrial TV and radio.

I hope anyone in a rural area who voted for Trump, will eventually come to the realization of the harm they have inflicted upon themselves with their vote. If only they had listened to what their candidate said he would do….

I’ve seen stories about rural people and military people getting screwed by republicans most of my life and there is always a dedicated core of loyalists no matter how bad it gets for them personally.

I think it will be mixed like after Bush the lesser, The more moderate conservatives will likely turn against him but the full on Trump cult people? No, They’re loyalty is faith-based and unbreakable.

Republicans believe their taxes will go down, $5,000 DOGE checks, tariff checks, awesome trade deals, getting raises at their jobs, grocery prices are going down. These people are living in a different reality. Propaganda has made them believe false information.

I have very little empathy left. Much like the following joke, they played themselves and will have to live with the outcome. Much like the rest of unfortunately. They were warned repeatedly.

Democrats always bailing out rural America is part of why Trump got to be president twice. They got too comfortable having their homophobic, misogynistic racist cake and eating it too while giving Democrats the finger and voting (R) again and again.

We need more good news like this.

Good. The one thing billionaires cover is land. Kids if family farms are going to crash due to Trumps policies & tariffs. I’m sure those generation farms won’t mind seeing their land snatched up by Gates, Buffett & the rest.
