As predicted, battery and solar tech are getting better and better and better.
I wonder what the non-renewable folks are going to talk about when California no longer has to deal with brown or black outs.
Took about four or five years, for almost 30+ GWh of batteries to be installed. However, the state still has a while to go (article says 52 GW/way over 200+ GWhs by 2045). For instance, the Diablo Canyon facility outputs about 48 GWhs of electricity every day. The state has, in total, about 40 GWhs of capacity. Because of 8-10 hours of solar, every single day, the state doesn’t need to 100% replace the nukes with dispathable power – maybe only 60% of them. However, it is still a lot more work to go.
We work on batteries in our company, and have installed four hour batteries, and those seem huge in their usefulness. I expect these big batteries to be very useful as well.
Make it easier for me to expand my system and add battery!!!
