Hallo zusammen,

That’s Gerhard. He’s harmless but the rest of his family aren’t. If you see his family you should call someone
Probably a „Waldschabe“ and harmless
Have you tried to restart the house? Maybe the bug dissappears

Cockroach 🪳
Kill it kill it kill it!
Kill that thang before it comes back with its extended family of 16 babies (each of them would have 16 more and so on), unless, of course, you’re looking for some company.
I couldn’t tell from those images, get a more close up view. Some bugs like the Bernstein-Waldschabe can look quite similar from a distance, and they’re harmless
Yeah.. worry!
Living room on the ceiling? From that information I would guess waldschabe which is not considered a pest. Can it fly? Is the neck shield transparent on the sides and missing two dark stripes? Then it is waldschabe for sure (and not a German roach)
Most likely its just a Waldschabe(forest cockroach). They live in bushes and the forest and often find their way inside through doors and windows. They are harmless.
A few years ago they also started appearing near my house, i see them all the time in the garden and quite often in my house as well.
But if it ends up being the very similar looking Küchenschabe(i think „german cockroach“ in english) you are in big trouble.
They will infest and multiply in your house, eat your food, hide in every crack and spread deseases. You can only really get rid of them by calling professional exterminators.
There are a few ways to differentiate them:
Küchenschaben are light sensitive. They mostly come out during the night and when you turn the light on they will quickly run and hide. The harmless Waldschabe doesnt care much about light.
Küchenschaben cant fly, even though they have wings. Waldschaben can fly but dont do it super often.
The Küchenschabe will have 2 dark stripes on the neck shield behind the head. The Waldschabe doesnt.
You probably need to catch one to examine them this closely.
