Every blue state should. We need to stack the upcoming 2026 elections. We shouldn’t even wait for Texas. Trump is raping our country and we need to stop fawning and do something.

    2. I wish Pritzker would redraw Illinois. I have two of the worst, inbred, excuses for humans as reps and with the way things are drawn now, we’re never going to have anything but moronic, cornbread elected officials. I’m surrounded by idiots who keep electing the same morons over and over. Outside of Chicago and the bigger cities it’s mostly a sea of cousin-fucking idiots.

    3. Stop threatening to respond to Republican shit. Be proactive. Just fucking do it. The House is already heavily biased towards the Republicans, so levelling the playing field is a good thing. Make California and New York solid fucking blue.

the moment dems get into power DC and PR need to become states and then stack the scotus.

    5. Gavin Newsom of California and JB Pritzker of Illinois:
      > The Democratic governors of two of the largest states in the country issued their most explicit threats yet to Republicans in Texas: If they draw new Congressional maps to favor their party before the 2026 election, Democrats will look to do the same.

      >“This is not a bluff,” Gov. Gavin Newsom of California said on Friday afternoon, minutes after meeting with Democrats from the Texas House. “This is real, and trust me, it’s more real after listening to these leaders today, how existential this is.”

      > Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois issued a similar pledge. “Everything is on the table,” he said on Friday.
The response from the two governors — both of whom are seen as potential Democratic presidential candidates in 2028 — followed meetings with more than a dozen Democrats from the Texas House, who had flown to California and Illinois on Friday as part of an effort to beat back an aggressive Republican redistricting effort.

      > In his remarks on Friday, Mr. Newsom laid out as many as four different paths that he is considering to change the independent commission process in California, including putting a referendum before the state’s voters that would allow changes to be made ahead of the 2026 election. Or, he said, he could work with the Legislature to come up with another solution.

They need,to start clearing away any guardrails so that they, can quickly if need be. Also i think other states should do the same

Yes. We have to defeat these assholes. If it’s legal, fucking do it. We should not wait to see what Texas does. New York, California, need to do it now to ensure a 10-20 seat majority.

CA here. Fuck it, let’s go. Democracy and representation is a myth at this point. We hold on to that fantasy at our own existential risk. I want to use every lever of power at our disposal to destroy the pedophile republicans. This is war.

    9. Maybe find some spine and just gerrymander the shit out of them. Rules dont matter anymore. Time to play their game.

And because they said that their redisctricting might get shut down. Dems just need to play the game without giving it away.

How do they not understand this yet?

    11. If that’s the dems attitude, they should have been doing this for the past 30 years. It’s a bit late now!

    12. Fuck it, you can get more juice out of states that haven’t been gerrymandered than ones that have, and gerrymandering is lower risk if you’re expecting a popular majority, so let’s get this arms race rolling.

No doubt Texas will redraw it but the Supreme Court will find a unique reason as to why the Dems retaliation is illegal.

    14. If California dems gerrymandered like Texas, there would be no Big Beautiful Bill

We are WAY past the time for “may,” and need to scream “WE WILL REDRAW OUR CONGRESSIONAL MAPS, BRUH!”

    16. alabasterskim on

Every blue state should have already. Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, and Florida already have gerrymandered maps. NC and WI should be 50-50; SC should have 1 more good district; Ohio has defied SCOTUS on redrawing multiple times; etc.

Stop threatening and fucking do it. California can make a 52-0 map with minimum D+10. NY can create at least 4 more seats. Washington State can create more. And we should’ve won redistricting in Wisconsin already; idk what that fucking state supreme court is thinking.

What Republicans have shown is that might makes right. If you have power, you get to wield it.

So when Democrats get back into power, and it’s fucking coming you can believe that, they get to unfuck all the things Republicans have ruined.

And when they complain they need to be told to sit down and shut the fuck up because that shit smelling breath is making us gag.

    18. Just remember, Governor Abbott, who leads the charge on the gerrymandering in Texas, compared the horrendous deaths from the flooding in Kerr County to people losing a football game.

    19. The fact that Democrats are conflicted about doing this to regain power just proves they haven’t learned enough yet to really change anything if they get power back.
