Ahoj alle! Vor 10 Tagen war ich in Bratislava und hatte ein Problem. Ich habe einen Elfmeter in einer Straßenbahn nach Hlavna Stanica bekommen, weil wir wirklich verwirrt waren, wie das Ticket gekauft werden soll, da der Stopp nicht die normalen Maschinen hatte, um sie wie jeder andere Stopp zu kaufen. Ich soll 120 € zahlen, aber meine Frage ist: Was passiert, wenn ich nicht bezahle? Ich bin ein ausländischer Staatsangehöriger außerhalb der Europäischen Union, ich bin hier im Urlaub und ich habe hier keine Verbindungen. Was könnte realistisch passieren, wenn ich die gebührende Zahlung nicht mache?

If you’re thinking about trying public transport without a ticket at Bratislava (not that I recommend it), avoid taking **tram lines 1 and 9**—both go through the city center. From my experience, fare inspectors seem to focus on these lines, especially around **Obchodná Street-Main train station**, where they frequently check for tickets. It almost feels like they hang around there out of convenience.
And to your question, well as you are outside of EU, it will likely be very hard beyound the ability of carrier to pursue the legal challenge. The price of getting their fill far outweights the filling, so yeah you are unlikelly getting anything out of it – if you wont pay.

I don’t understand why people don’t research basic information before traveling abroad, especially regarding public transportation, when they know they will be using it. I don’t live in Bratislava, but I know how and where to buy a ticket. You can buy it at the stop (they will be modernizing the ticket machines), or by tapping your card on the bus; they have a new TAPNI SA system. You have no choice but to pay for it.
Nobody can tell you what could or could not happen. I’d pay it, it’s 99 euro, not that bad.
Buying a ticket is not rocket science..
But as you’re outside of EU, simply don’t pay.
Just pay it and you dont have to live in a fear of distress warrant. No matter you have no ties here, if our two countries have some diplomatic connections and international agreements signed between each other there is a very high chance of this fine reaching you at home too. Usually if authorities need to look for you abroad and send you calls for payment several times and you will eventually become overdue you’d have to pay much more than original fine. If it doesnt ruin your budget just pay it and let the whole issue just became a bad memory…
Really depends on which country you are from. Outside of EU – Yeah I wouldn’t pay that shit if I were you

Most pribably nothing will happen. Cost of dealing with that if u r outside of EU is way much higher than fine, so I would not mind (just opinion)
not „knowing“ how to buy a ticket when there are at least 4 ways to do so is definitely your fault, just pay the ticket and move on
Any unpaid fine might potentially affect your future visas to Slovakia/maybe whole EU. It works like that with traffic fines in some EU countries, at least.
