Heritage Minister Amichay Eliyahu said Thursday that Israel is advancing the destruction of Gaza, and that the Strip will be made totally Jewish, drawing outcry among opposition politicians.

“The government is racing ahead for Gaza to be wiped out,” Eliyahu told Haredi radio station Kol Barama. “Thank God, we are wiping out this evil. We are pushing this population that has been educated on ‘Mein Kampf.’”

Eliyahu said that Gaza will be cleared for Jewish settlement and that Jewish towns won’t be “fenced in inside cantons.”

“All Gaza will be Jewish,” he said, though he clarified that Arabs who are loyal to Israel will be tolerated.

“We aren’t racists,” the far-right Otzma Yehudit politician added. “We are fighting those who fight us.”

    2. Sometimes you have to wonder whether these people try hard to pick the worst statements for the worst timings or if it comes naturally to them.

Israeli far right is running on a fantasy platform and everybody knows it. They position themselves as a count weight to a potential moderate to left center in the upcoming elections.

    3. Israel’s tyrannical regime saying the quite part out loud. They need to be sanctioned.

    4. What? No way!

Anyway, we knew this would happen when Trump was elected. Same for West Bank. What happens after he takes office, he talks about seizing Gaza and putting up hotels. He removes sanctions on West Bank terrorists. Famine strikes. Now this.

In short, the 2024 election decided that Palestinians didn’t actually matter.

    5. Let me quote myself from a while ago:
      > Didn’t even need to read the article to know it was probably Amicahi Chikli.
It’s always either him or the other dumbass who suggested nuking Gaza.

Looks like this time it’s the other dumbass’s turn.

If they don’t, Gaza will become a hive of FPV drones flying out to hit Israeli targets 24/7/365. The nightly rocket attacks, of the past, were one thing. Iron Dome was dealing with those for the most part. But the kind of drone warfare, as it has evolved in Ukraine, would be a different beast altogether. Should Israel just let that happen?

EDIT: I’ve laid this rather obvious possibility before, and I only get attacked for it, which makes no sense. Do people believe that, if Israel were to ease off, and let Palestinians recover in Gaza, that they won’t immediately start using these deadly new tools? What am I missing? Why don’t people get this?

Other parliamentary systems don’t let people say things that aren’t policy and stay in the cabinet, even in minor, phony-baloney jobs. This is an Israeli cultural trait that in normal times is annoying, but maybe doesn’t matter so much. Yet now a fair-minded reader sees this headline and maybe doesn’t see Netanyahu’s occasional denial or splits the difference.

Man, I can’t wait long enough for those assholes to get voted out of power in the next elections. They can’t come too soon…

Fellas, is reading Israeli Cabinet Ministers‘ own words back to them blood libel?

    15. Though it won’t convince anyone, it was an unpopular statement even to the most notorious of them. From the first paragraph of the article:

      > Heritage Minister Amichay Eliyahu said Thursday that Israel is advancing the destruction of Gaza, and that the Strip will be made totally Jewish, drawing outcry among opposition politicians and eventually from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself.

He is not far-right; he’s just a puppet of the Prime Minister’s office. They are using him to distract from important issues by making provocative statements.
