      Horrific that these things happen

      Ms Whyte and her children were „active and beloved” members of both St Mary’s Maguiresbridge Gaelic Football Club and Lisbellaw St. Patrick’s Hurling Club in the area.

      Both organisations said they are “working with the GAA at county, provincial and national level, to implement the Association’s critical incident protocols”.

      Ms Whyte also volunteered as the Coaching Officer at the hurling club, and helped with its underage training sessions. She was previously praised for her dedication to the club’s development.

      Local UUP councillor coming out with a tone deaf statement there. “Regardless of who the individuals are” the wider community is devastated. Why does it matter what colour or creed the victims are? Just the statement of an ape who can only see through the guise of green or orange.

      Ireland needs to amend the divorce laws, a six month process would cut down on violence to women . I know someone who is caught in a prolonged situation with a person with the profile of someone who is capaof this and access to guns-multiple threats, and the judges are caught in a ‘he’s a good man’ because he is so manipulative- and they are biased and naive-everyone who knows the situation fears for her safety. Psych evaluation is taken over a year- it’s a recipe for violence.

      The person who does this always survives their suicide attempt, guessing he’s the one that phoned for help too after he couldn’t go through with it. Mental health issues or not I hope he rots

      Title should change to: “woman and her children are murdered”. Framing it as a “shooting tragedy” seems it could almost be accidental.

      I remeber thinking yesterday about the kid in hospital, an imagine if they pull through that your dad killed your mum and sibling……..

      God help all their friends and families having to somehow make sense of this.
