In the trial related to the series of robberies orchestrated by individuals using the alias „Luffy,“ Tomonobu Kojima, an executive member of the criminal organization, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Tokyo District Court.

Kojima, 47, was charged with aiding and abetting robbery resulting in injury for introducing perpetrators in the series of robberies that occurred from 2022 involving individuals using the alias „Luffy.“

In today’s ruling, the Tokyo District Court stated, „In order for the leaders to continuously carry out the incidents, it was necessary to continuously secure the perpetrators, and the role played by Kojima was extremely important.“

Furthermore, the court stated, „He was involved in the incidents habitually and professionally, as if he were doing ordinary work, and continued to create not only victims but also many criminals.“ As a result, Kojima was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

While trials for the perpetrators involved in the series of incidents have already taken place, this is the first time a verdict has been handed down to an executive member of the criminal organization.
